AMERICA GOES TO WAR

(CIVIL WAR RE-ENACTMENT)

Presented by the Civil War Center of Texas

Hosted by 13th Texas Cavalry

 

Friday March 7, School day:  8:30 to 3:00, cost $7.00 per person, including lunch

We will have approx. 14 demos for the children to view & learn from (We need   Volunteers for a school day scrimmage)

 

              5:30 pm                        Beaumont Friday evening fish-fry opens (dinner served until 8:30)

                                                Night Tactical planned for all wishing to join in [King of the Hill]

Saturday March 8,

 

  7:00 am                 Reveille

  8:00 am                 Officers Call (in the church)

  9:00 am                 Gates open – prices will be $7.00 adults, $5.00 children under 12 & seniors 60+ (price includes parking)

                                Sutlers open – Chisholm Fork Life

  9:30 am                 Ladies’ Tea (in Sidney Cattle Company)

11:00 am                 Raid on Chisholm Fork (Federal occupation)

Noon                       Lunch in Blue Bonnet Barn ($7.95 adults/$5.95 kids (4-12) seniors

  1:00 pm                 Confederate Raid on Chisholm Fork followed by (Temperance Rally).

  1:30 pm                 Reading of “Sara’s Letter”

  1:55 pm                 Ladies Flag Presentation (in town, by the Ladies of the 13th Texas Cavalry)         

  2:30 pm                 Battle

  4:00 pm                 Chisholm Fork Life (General Cleburne’s Birthday Celebration w/cake [main street Chisholm Fork]   

  6:00 pm                 Dinner in Blue bonnet barn ($9.95 adults/$5.95 kids (4-12), seniors

  7:30 pm                 Dance in Blue bonnet barn (guest are invited to stay for dance $18./couple in period dress - $12./couple in audience only)

10:30am                  Temperance Rally

  Noon                     Troops begin placement

                                Ladies Flag Presentation (in town, by the Ladies of the 13th Texas Cavalry)

12:15 pm                 Reading of “Sara’s Letter” (main street Chisholm Fork)

  1:00 pm                 Battle

  2:00 pm                 Chisholm Fork Life

  3:00 pm                 Camp breakdown
